Asteria, The Space Between Stars | 24mm

There is something about looking into the night sky that makes me feel both impossibly small and infinitely connected to everything around me. Billions of stars scattered across distances we can barely comprehend, each carrying its own light, its own history, its own little piece of the universe.

Asteria, the Greek Titaness associated with falling stars and nighttime divination, feels like she belongs somewhere in that beautiful mystery. In mythology, she is connected to the quiet magic of the heavens, to dreams, and to the things we sometimes understand without being able to explain how we know them.

This marble reminds me of a universe unfolding.

Deep ribbons of cobalt and electric blue surround brilliant flashes of molten copper, fiery orange, and luminous violet. Emerald green glimmers along the edges, while delicate wisps of pale, almost moonlit glass drift through the layers. Tiny shimmering details create the impression of distant stars, suspended in a world that seems to stretch far beyond the surface.

What fascinates me most is the contrast. There is so much fire tucked inside these cool, celestial blues. Depending on how the light finds it, the entire landscape changes. One moment you’re looking into the depths of a midnight sky, and the next, something brilliant appears where you hadn’t noticed it before.

I think we are a little like that, too. Entire universes of experiences, memories, and possibilities living quietly beneath the surface. So much of who we are remains invisible until the right light reaches us.

And sometimes, the most extraordinary things are the ones we discover when we look a little deeper.
