I’ve always loved the way certain colors seem to have a personality of their own. Some are soft and quiet, while others are so full of life that they seem to demand your attention. Chartreuse has always felt like one of those colors to me. It’s bright and unexpected, somewhere between the warmth of sunshine and the freshness of new growth, with an energy that makes everything around it feel a little more alive.
Chartreuse Daydream reminds me of those wonderfully imaginative places that exist somewhere between nature and fantasy. A world where the sunlight is impossibly bright, the colors are a little more extraordinary, and everything seems to twist and grow in unexpected directions.
Brilliant chartreuse green glows throughout this marble, surrounding intricate ribbons of turquoise, icy aqua, deep violet, and delicate ivory. Fine lines of dark glass weave through the colors, creating beautifully striped patterns that twist into spirals and fold back upon themselves. Some of the curves remind me of unfurling fern leaves, while others look like little vines reaching toward the light.
What I especially love about this piece is the way the transparent green creates space between all of those intricate details. You can look through one layer into another, following a ribbon as it disappears beneath a fold of glass and emerges somewhere completely unexpected. Tiny suspended bubbles catch the light, while flashes of warm amber and iridescent blue introduce little moments of contrast throughout the composition.
And then you turn it, and everything changes.
A spiral that appeared dark suddenly reveals delicate stripes of turquoise and ivory. The brilliant greens become almost golden where the sunlight passes through them. A ribbon that seemed to disappear into the background becomes the most interesting part of the entire piece.
There is something fascinating about creating these little worlds inside glass. The colors are constantly moving while I work, stretching and folding through the heat of the flame. Every movement changes the composition, and eventually there comes a moment when all of that movement becomes permanent.
But even after the glass has cooled, it never really feels still.
The ribbons continue to lead your eye in different directions. The spirals seem to pull you deeper into the piece. And the light keeps changing everything, revealing details that were there all along but needed just the right perspective to be seen.
I think that’s part of the magic of handmade marbles. Something small enough to hold between your fingers can contain an entire landscape of color, movement, and imagination. You can spend time exploring it and still find something you hadn’t noticed before.
Handcrafted in the flame, Chartreuse Daydream is a one-of-a-kind 25 mm art glass marble filled with luminous color, intricate spirals, and beautiful layers of depth.
A little daydream in shades of electric green, where the colors wander, the light dances, and imagination has plenty of room to get lost.
