I think there is something extraordinary about the way color can create movement, even when everything is perfectly still. How a simple curve can lead your eye somewhere unexpected, and how one color can completely change the way you experience another just by being beside it.

Chromatic Waltz reminds me of watching colors dance. Not in a perfectly choreographed way, but in that beautiful, spontaneous way things move when they are allowed to find their own rhythm.

Brilliant ribbons of cobalt blue, turquoise, magenta, and fiery coral twist through this little world of glass, winding around flashes of golden yellow, emerald green, and warm amber. Some of the colors stretch into long, sweeping curves, while others fold tightly into intricate spirals. Delicate stripes trace their way through the ribbons, creating layers of detail that become more fascinating the closer you look.

What I especially love about this marble is the space between the colors. There are beautiful areas of transparent glass that allow you to look past one ribbon and into another, creating this wonderful illusion of depth. The bright blues seem to reach forward, while the softer pinks and golden reflections settle farther inside. Tiny bubbles remain suspended throughout, little reminders of the movement and transformation that took place in the flame.

And then you turn it.

Suddenly, the composition changes. The deep blues give way to warm coral and rose, delicate spirals appear where you hadn’t noticed them before, and a ribbon that seemed almost black reveals itself to be layered with violet, blue, and gold.

I love that about glass. The way something can be completely transformed by a small change in perspective, even though the piece itself hasn’t changed at all.

There is a wonderful freedom in creating these little worlds. In allowing colors to interact, watching them stretch and fold, and knowing that every movement of the glass becomes part of something that can never be exactly recreated.
