Electric Undertow Marble

Electric Undertow | 25mm

I remember when blue was never just blue.

It was the color of the impossible. The color of the translucent plastic treasures we carried everywhere, the glitter suspended inside our favorite pens, and the glowing blue lights that made an ordinary room feel like another dimension.

There was something about the 90s that made even the most familiar colors feel extraordinary.

Electric Undertow captures that feeling in a little world of glass.

Brilliant electric blue surrounds winding ribbons of turquoise, aqua, and seafoam, creating a beautiful sense of movement beneath the surface. Vivid flashes of tangerine, cherry red, and hot pink sweep through the cooler colors, while delicate iridescent details shimmer like tiny sparks caught in a current.

What draws me into this piece is the way the blue seems to hold everything together.

There are places where the glass feels almost weightless, where translucent layers open into little pools of light. And then, quite unexpectedly, a ribbon of color curls into a perfect little spiral, drawing your eye deeper into a world that seems much larger than the glass containing it.

It reminds me of those afternoons spent watching liquid-filled toys tumble and swirl, of lava lamps glowing beside our beds, of the mesmerizing little things we could stare at for hours without ever growing bored.

Before everything was available at the touch of a screen, there was a different kind of magic in simply watching something move.

Following a swirl. Discovering a color. Turning something over and over in your hands because somehow it looked different every single time.

Electric Undertow carries that beautiful sense of fascination.

A little rush of electric blue, a few unexpected ribbons of rainbow, and an entire world of discovery suspended in glass.

Some things are just too beautiful to look at only once.
