Eos, The Color of Becoming | 25mm
I’ve always loved the moments when the sky seems unable to decide what color it wants to be. When the darkness is still holding on, but the first light has already begun spilling across the horizon, turning everything it touches into something unexpected.
Eos, the Greek goddess of dawn, was said to open the gates of heaven each morning, allowing the sun to begin its journey across the sky. I like to imagine that somewhere between darkness and daylight, she scattered a thousand colors just to see what they would become.
This marble reminds me of that beautiful collision.
Brilliant ribbons of rainbow glass fold and twist through electric blue, violet, molten gold, and flashes of fiery pink. Delicate silvered details catch the light between the layers, while little pockets of color seem to stretch endlessly into the depths of the glass. There is so much movement here that even when the marble is perfectly still, it feels alive.
What I love most about Eos is that she represents a beginning without knowing what comes next. Every sunrise arrives differently. Some mornings are soft and quiet, while others seem determined to set the entire sky on fire.
And perhaps that’s the beauty of becoming. We don’t have to know exactly who we are going to be to appreciate all the colors we’re made of along the way.
