There is something about the way color moves through molten glass that has always fascinated me. The way one color reaches into another, stretching and folding and becoming something entirely unexpected. For a few moments, everything is fluid, and then the movement stops. What remains is this beautiful little record of something that existed for only an instant.

Orchid Afterglow reminds me of the softness of flower petals and the beautiful colors that linger in the sky after the sun has disappeared. That wonderful place where warm light meets cooler shadows, and everything seems to take on a little more depth.

Rich orchid purples and luminous lavender unfold through delicate ribbons of icy blue, soft pink, and opalescent ivory. The colors curl into intricate spirals, surrounded by brilliant flashes of copper, gold, and iridescent light. Some of the glass seems almost weightless, like translucent silk drifting through water, while deeper shades of violet and burgundy create contrast beneath the softer layers.

What I especially love about this marble is the way the details seem to emerge from one another. A ribbon of blue curves into a delicate spiral, disappearing beneath a fold of lavender before revealing itself somewhere entirely different. Golden reflections illuminate tiny spaces between the layers, and little bubbles remain suspended in the glass, adding another dimension to the movement.

As you turn the marble, the colors begin to tell a different story. What initially appears to be a soft purple landscape transforms into glowing amber and rose. Iridescent blues catch the light, revealing beautiful folds and delicate curves that were hidden from the previous angle.

I think one of the most extraordinary things about glass is its ability to preserve movement without losing the feeling of it. Even after everything has cooled and become solid, there is still this wonderful sense that the colors are moving, that the ribbons are unfolding, and that somewhere inside, the glass is holding onto the memory of the flame.
