Ultraviolet Wonderland | Big Hole Bead Trio

There are colors that make me want to explore every little corner of the world, simply to discover what else might be possible.

And then there are colors that make me feel as though I’ve discovered an entirely new world hiding inside the one I already know.

This trio feels like the second kind.

Deep ultraviolet and electric cobalt tumble through luminous turquoise, while flashes of molten copper, golden sunlight, and brilliant emerald shimmer beneath the surface. Ribbons of lavender and violet curl into delicate spirals, creating little pockets of movement that seem to pull the light deeper into the glass.

I love how the center bead feels like the heart of it all. A beautiful, swirling collection of purple and iridescence, surrounded by two smaller worlds bursting with their own extraordinary combinations of color.

There is something almost otherworldly about the way these beads come alive in the light. One moment the blues are impossibly brilliant, and the next, a tiny flash of green or gold appears somewhere you hadn’t noticed before.

It reminds me of that wonderful feeling of discovering something for the very first time. When curiosity opens a door you didn’t know existed, and suddenly the world feels a little larger, a little brighter, and infinitely more interesting.

I think that is one of my favorite things about creating with glass.
