Zarina, A Thousand Little Suns | 23mm

There is something extraordinary about the way sunlight changes everything it touches. The same landscape can look entirely different depending on the hour, the angle, or the way the light finds its way through the clouds. Sometimes the world seems to glow from within, as though everything around us has been illuminated by a thousand tiny suns.

Zarina is a beautiful feminine name of Persian origin meaning golden. I love the warmth of that meaning, and the idea that something can carry its own radiance, even when surrounded by an entirely different world of color.

This marble reminds me of sunlight dancing across a sea of gemstones.

Soft, luminous turquoise flows around extraordinary flashes of molten gold, brilliant magenta, and electric violet. Layers of iridescent glass shimmer with shades of lavender, rose, and warm copper, while delicate translucent ribbons weave between the colors. Tiny suspended bubbles catch the light, creating little points of brilliance that seem to float within the glass.

What I find especially beautiful about this piece is the way the gold appears to glow from beneath the surface. Against the cooler turquoise, the metallic colors become almost impossibly vibrant. Every turn reveals another little landscape, another place where the light finds something unexpected.

I’ve always believed that the most beautiful things in life aren’t necessarily the ones that shine the brightest. Sometimes they are the ones that reveal their beauty slowly, offering us something new each time we take a moment to look a little closer.

Zarina reminds me that we all carry a little bit of that golden light within us. Something uniquely our own, shaped by everything we’ve experienced and every beautiful little piece of ourselves we’ve discovered along the way.

And perhaps the loveliest part of all is realizing that our light was never something we needed to find.

It was always there, waiting for us to notice.
